Dirks to celebrate 70 years of marriage

LeRoy and Donna Dirks of Fonda will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Jan. 30, with an open house from 2-4 p.m. at the Fonda Senior Center. The couple was married on Jan. 30, 1941 at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake.

LeRoy and Donna are blessed with seven children: Marvin (LaVonne) Dirks of Fonda, Duane (Inez) Dirks of Kingsport, Tenn., Ron (Caryl) Dirks of Fonda, Dee (Jerry) Gosch of Storm Lake, Darvin Dirks of Iowa Falls, Randy (Rebecca) Dirks of Faribault, Minn., and Lynette (Bill) Halder of Storm Lake; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and another expected in March, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
