Verneeda Marie Dirks was born January 10,1926 near Fonda, Iowa and passed away August 15, 1940
at the age of 14 years, 7 months and 5 days. She was baptized at the Evangelical Church in 
Pomeroy on February 26,1926.

She has attended Sunday school at the Presbyterian Church since she was 4 years old until the 
time of her illness. She was ill only 2 months before she passed away.

She leaves to mourn her death her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dick Dirks, five sisters; Leona, Violet, 
Marcella, Margie and Eileen, seven brothers; Freddie, LeRoy, Edward, Johnny, Richard and Roland, 
one brother-in-law, Henry McGinley of Fonda. A sister, Eva, preceded her in death, May 10, 1925. 
She also leaves many friends and relatives including 2 grandmothers.

She attended the Fonda High School and would have been in the 10th grade this year.

A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled
The one His love has given
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in heaven.
